London Museum of Water & Steam

Yesterday I took a trip to the London Museum of Water & Steam (formerly known as Kew Bridge Steam Museum). It's one of my absolute favourite museums in London, full of large steam powered pumps and fascinating facts about the water systems in London. It also has a beautiful garden, although it was so hot we didn't manage to enjoy it for very long. 

In the grounds there is a tiny steam engine, which was used to transport coal when the site was used as a water pumping station. Any opportunity to travel by steam always reminds me of From a Railway Carriage by Robert Louis Stevenson, which was one of the first poems I ever memorised, mainly because it was on a poster outside my English classroom.
